And the Last shall be First

12 months of swimming tragic

Extract From oceanswims:
Distance Tallies 2009/10
"Fine ocean swimmers, indeed ...

The 2009/10 season is done. And the winner, who swam a greater distance than anyone else of the 39,730 swimmers included in our season tallies, is... RICHARD ... regular oceanswims blobber ... in Sydney. Richard tallied 91.7km over the course of the 2009/10 season, which ended on May 31. Then followed three Western Stray'ans, Rod .. (89km), Michael .. (78.9km), and Jenna .. (75.9km), closely followed by last year's talliest, Tacoma Jim .. (74.9km)."

Hi Richard - I promise I'm not a stalker. We'll (b.in law and me) no doubt see you at Mona Vale.

By the way, this is a 'ridiculous' achievement! And I mean that in the most flattering sense of the word.

Congrats.

PS I won't comment on the ocean swims site - I don't want to look like a stalker.

Hi Thanks.
Not so much an achievement to do that many swims, more like an exercise in stupidity and persistence.
I am still inspired by those swimmers I know who are doing 20k and further ocean swims.
BTW - I reckon anyone who publishes on a public blog is inviting comment - positive, negative or otherwise - so don't hold back.
You should ask os.c to add you as a contributer, it would improve the quality of posts on that forum.
